7 Years - the lyrics

Sick in my guts

I feel it way too much

You’ve opened up a feeling I don’t trust

It’s been the best of us, forget the rest of us no matter what

I’m feeling out of touch so baby readjust together

Don’t wannna hear you say it’s seven years for nothing

Don’t wanna hear you say it’s seven years for someone new

I’ve got an itch that I can’t seem to scratch

You know just how to do that

The one behind my back

You know just where it’s at

Couldn’t hope to find it if I tried all the time

Your good looks won’t drive us on the track all the time

Don’t wannna hear you say it’s seven years for nothing

Don’t wanna hear you say it’s seven years for someone new

Don’t wannna hear you say it’s seven years for nothing

Don’t wanna hear you say it’s seven years for someone new

Hear you say

That you don’t know

But I’ll say

Don’t let me go

Hear you say

That you don’t know

But I’ll say

Don’t let me go

Don’t let me go…

Don’t wannna hear you say it’s seven years for nothing

Don’t wanna hear you say it’s seven years for someone new

Don’t wannna hear you say it’s seven years for nothing

Don’t wanna hear you say it’s seven years for someone new

Guitar Solo

Don’t wannna hear you say it’s seven years for nothing

Don’t wanna hear you say it’s seven years for someone new

Seven Years

I, Daniel, wrote this song after a mini non argument with my wife Leanne and then went to town imagining how bad a break up would be. I coupled that with the thought that it could be the antithesis to the idea of a 7 year itch in a relationship. A small dig at a certain reality TV show may or may not be intended.  The band made it great. Like, really great. They just carry the feeling of this song to new levels and gave Lachy a canvas to play a stunning guitar solo over.

We hope you love this one as much as we love when we play it in a room together and nail it.
